Hoot Owl Goes Green

Well, the 350 event at the Hoot Owl last evening went off without a hitch.....the bar looked great with all of the candles glowing nicely throughout !!! .....and we were grateful for those who participated,....all were really good sports !!! Santa even showed up with a sign stating " Santa worries about climate change especially smog on Christmas Eve"......commenting that only one reindeer has a light !!! The remaining candles have been donated for the Golden Bears Christmas party ...... so hope… Continue

350 Event in Canton at the Hoot Owl

A candle light vigil will be held in the Hoot Owl parking lot on Friday, December 11, 2009 from 9-9:15pm. The vigil is to remind delegates to the Copenhagan talks on global warning of the goals of the worldwide organization "350" (www.350.org.) If you are not familiar with these goals or the 350 organization check out their website. St., Lawrence Hockey

Last weekend was great ..... SLU Football team played 1st place ranked Union and went into overtime.....Hockey team beat RIT (3-1) and Niagara (4-3) in non league games.....The SLU Hockey Boosters filled the Hoot Owl Saturday night and according to rumors, enjoyed their time at the tavern....... This coming weekend......on Saturday..... will be one of the greatest games of the year ....the Route 11 Rivalry.....between Clarkson and SLU.....will report the results next week so stay tuned !!! Great Hall of Fame Weekend

The Hall of Fame Weekend for St. Lawrence University was great. Many from the 1976 Football Team returned for the induction including 5 coaches, 41 players and Bear in spirit I am sure.......Great stories and memories.....everyone seemed to have a great time....Thanks for coming back especially all who stopped by the Hoot Owl !!!
